Chona May Dizon
BSPT Registered Physiotherapist

Chona completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy in the Philippines and augmented it by attaining continuing studies at Thompson Rivers University (open learning division). Upon completion of her licensure examination, Chona acquired several training and courses that focus on treating musculoskeletal conditions through manual therapy. She obtained training on Mulligan’s Mobilization with Movement, McKenzie A, Sacroiliac, and pelvic complex, shoulder complex, therapeutic taping from Advanced Physical Therapy Education Institute.

Chona specializes in treating acute injuries, chronic pain, and pre-post orthopedic surgery cases. Her treatment viewpoint is predicated by thorough assessments and efficiently working with patients to achieve their health goals by addressing pain, improving range-of-motion and strengthening regimens. She works diligently with her patients to achieve and maintain their highest functional level by teaching proper techniques and recommendations in preventing recurrence of pain/injury.

Chona is also well versed in Elderly care from different Durham Regional long term care facilities. She had training and completed courses for home safety assessments and fall prevention. She is also a registered Assisted Device Program (ADP) Authorizer (Ambulation Aids) in Ontario. When not working Chona values time with family and friends especially looking forward to quality time on different adventures may it be traveling abroad, visiting relatives, R&R on tropical destinations and the occasional fun getaways.
